Welcome to Foxing: A Standard Field Manual, volume fifty-six. This book is assuredly second-hand, so to whether you are the second, third, or a reader after this, always remember: keep this book with you at all times. It may save your life.
It is not an exaggeration to say that every lesson in this field manual was written with the blood of Foxers, Foxers who gave their lives to teach future generations to not end up crucified, emulsified, pulverized, vaporized, and/or spiritualized. So chin up — you don’t know anything yet.
These next ten sections will introduce you to the principles of Foxing, both as a profession within the Church, and as a verb — the act of Foxing. Within these pages, you will learn what it takes to become a Foxer. You will learn how pair bond with your service fox. You will learn how to navigate safely across Purgatory USING your service fox. You will learn cartography, animal handling, marksmanship, stealth, and you will learn how to snuff the life out of a man. Finally, you will learn to identify and recover relics.
To be clear:
You will be tested, battered, pushed to your wits end, your physical limits broken, mind whittled down to a husk and molded back into shape until you pass your board exams — throughout the course of this book.
Now we begin with section one: What is Foxing?
